Colour Confidence at Work
A 90 minute session that helps your team feel more comfortable, more visible and more like themselves at work. Practical, participatory, and delivered on site.
Most people have quietly narrowed their working wardrobe down to a handful of safe pieces, usually dark, usually the same. It is efficient, and it is often the reason someone feels flat in a room they should be commanding. Not because of the clothes, but because nothing they are wearing feels like a choice.
This session is not about dressing everyone the same, or telling anyone what to wear. It is about giving people a straightforward way to work out which colours suit them, and the confidence to use that at work without buying anything new.
What your team leaves with
- Confidence choosing colours for work, including for interviews, presentations and client meetings
- An understanding of why colour near the face changes what people notice first
- Practical ways to bring colour in without replacing a wardrobe, using layers, accessories and small swaps
- A broader and more individual idea of what professional appearance can look like, which matters in a mixed team
How the session runs
It is participatory throughout, not a long presentation with slides. People try things, compare, and see the difference on each other, which is the part that actually lands.
- What colour is doing, and what it is not A short, myth-clearing opening. Professional does not have to mean black, and colour is not a superficial detail when it sits next to your face all day.
- Live colour comparisons Using professional analysis drapes, with volunteers, in daylight. This is the memorable part. Once a room has watched someone’s face change under two different shades, nobody needs convincing.
- Working it into a real wardrobe Small group discussion and practical swaps people can make tomorrow, with what they already own.
- Questions, and what to do next Open floor. People always have specific questions, and this is where they get answered properly.
A note on inclusivity. Colour analysis works for every skin tone, and the session is built to be useful to a mixed team rather than a narrow one. Nobody is put on the spot, and taking part in the demonstrations is always voluntary.
Where this fits
The session works well as part of a wellbeing week or staff away day, as a women’s network or International Women’s Day event, as a lunch and learn for client-facing teams, or as part of a career development or returners programme. It is delivered as an on-site team wellbeing workshop across Oxfordshire and the neighbouring counties.
It has landed particularly well with teams whose work involves being seen: professional services, recruitment, healthcare leadership, education and anyone preparing for interviews or public-facing roles.

I had lost my sense of style and was struggling to choose clothes for myself. It was so interesting to learn all about colour seasons and how colour can complement not only my eyes and hair, but my complexion and features too.
